Washington Toda (9-12-23): Speaker McCarthy opens impeachment inquiry into President Biden

Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) directs the Oversight Committee to open an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, saying the committee has so far found "allegations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption" in the president's family's overseas business dealing that "warrant further investigation by the House of Representatives".

Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) threatens to call for a vote to remove Speaker McCarthy unless the Speaker does more to investigate the Bidens, limit federal spending and hold votes on proposed House reforms such as term limits. Rep. says Speaker McCarthy is "out of compliance" with deal he struck that got him the Republican votes needed to be elected Speaker, and an impeachment inquiry of President Biden is a "baby step".
