Washington Today (6-12-23): Miami mayor says city is ready for Trump federal arraignment protesters

Transportation Secretary Buttigieg pledges full support of the federal government to rebuild the section of Interstate 95 that collapsed over the weekend after a tanker truck filled with gasoline burst into flames.

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez and Police Chief Manny Morales say the city is ready for any protests or demonstrations during Tuesday's arraignment in federal court of former President Donald Trump on federal charges related to his handling of classified documents.

President Joe Biden undergoes a root canal today after complaining of tooth pain on Sunday. White House Press Secretary says “that the procedure has been successfully completed. The president is doing just fine", and he worked in the residence this afternoon. It did cause him to skip or postpone public events on his schedule today.

U.S. House back in session, as House Speaker Kevin McCarthy attempts to reconcile differences with a group of House Republicans upset at the way the debt ceiling and spending cut bill was negotiated a few weeks ago, and in protest, those Republicans have been blocking House floor debate and votes on other bills. Meanwhile, the House Rules Committee starts work on one of their demands, a bill to reverse the ATF regulation on pistol braces.
