House joins the Senate in passing bill to reverse U.S. fish & Wildlife Service decision to list two animals as Endangered Species – the lesser prairie chicken and long-eared bat – but the president says he will veto the bills.
The House passes the first government spending bill for the next fiscal year – for veterans affairs and military construction, but puts off taking up the second on agriculture and the FDA over disagreements about funding levels and abortion policy.
The Senate continues working on the annual defense policy and programs bill, the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA. One amendment from Sen. Sanders (I-VT) that would have cut funding 10 percent failed.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni visits Washington, meeting with Congressional Leaders and President Biden, talking about Russia's invasion of Ukraine and relations with China.
