Mississippi set to elect its first LGBTQ legislator

On Tuesday, Fabian Nelson won the Democratic primary runoff to represent Mississippi's 66th state House district, where he is running in the general election unopposed. Nelson's win is a historic first as he is the first LGBTQ legislator in Mississippi history.
