AI now means that nearly anyone with a computer can create full-length songs, complete with instrumentals and vocals, from just a text prompt. The Recording Academy allows music with AI components to be eligible for certain Grammy Awards, but will there ever be a standalone, “AI-Generated Music” category? Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. explains why that’s unlikely.
