‘It’s a sin’: The Philippines battle over sex ed

Adolescent pregnancies are soaring in the Philippines. Between 2019 to 2023, births among girls aged 10 to 14 jumped 38%. In a country where abortion is illegal, that means most of these pregnant children go on to become mothers.But efforts to expand sex education face fierce opposition from powerful conservative and religious groups, as CNN’s Hanako Montgomery reports.
