Jack Smith seeks approval to testify publicly before Congress

Former special counsel Jack Smith is asking Congress and the DOJ to let him testify publicly, citing “many mischaracterizations” of his investigations that led to criminal charges against Donald Trump in 2023 over classified records and 2020 election-related actions, according to a letter sent Thursday to House and Senate Judiciary leaders.
