Texas border district flashing warning signs for 2026 midterm elections

Could the gains President Trump made with Latino voters be slipping away? After making steady improvements with Latinos the last three presidential elections, Texas Republicans redrew congressional districts ahead of the 2026 midterms to strengthen that support. But in Texas House District 34, some Latino voters told CNN’s John King that while they back tougher border policies, they feel recent ICE enforcement and deportations go too far.
