Young girl receives heart transplant after 200 day wait

Video captured the moment 11-year-old Ava told her dad she was going to receive a life-saving heart transplant, after a wait of over 200 days. Born with multiple heart defects, Ava had undergone four open heart surgeries by the age of 5. Doctors at the Cleveland Clinic decided that a full transplant was her best option, and in March 2025, Ava was finally matched with a donor.
