Sen. James Lankford (R-OK): "The Senate is a place where the grownups are supposed to live, and we have to have hard conversations. The reason the cloture rule and the filibuster rule even exist is it forces people that disagree, just like Americans do, to be able to have a place in government where two sides that disagree have to side down and be able to work it out. That's why I've been so adamant to be able to protect the filibuster and cloture rules…this is the spot in the United States Senate where Americans that disagree get the opportunity to be able to sit down and work it out.
