Wealth Coach’s ‘Guaranteed’ Success Claims Under Scrutiny

A national investigation into the business practices of Marshall Sylver, a long-time wealth instructor and founder of Prosperity Alliance, has revealed a pattern of contradictory refund policies and duplicated customer testimonials, according to a report by the Keystone Gazette.

Sylver’s company markets a series of wealth-building courses with prices ranging from $1,995 to $79,995. The company’s promotional materials claim that “your success in almost any business is guaranteed” and that a customer’s “FIRST MILLION is ready for you.”

Despite these specific financial promises, the Prosperity Alliance website lacks a published earnings disclosure—a standard document used to show the actual percentage of participants who achieve advertised financial results. The site also lacks a formal privacy policy, terms of service, or refund policy. A technical analysis of 150 URLs confirmed these omissions, and investigators found that the company’s pricing page is specifically configured to prevent search engine indexing.

Further discrepancies were found on a companion site, sylver.com. While one section of the Terms of Use suggests a 30-day refund window, a private coaching page explicitly states, “All Sales are final… No refunds will be given.”

The investigation also highlighted questionable evidence regarding customer success. The company’s testimonial page features claims of rapid earnings, including one individual alleging $10,000 in a single week and another claiming $2.5 million in a first year. However, researchers found five instances where identical testimonial text was attributed to different people.

In some cases, the duplication included the same typographical errors. One pair of testimonials both misspelled “Turning Point” as “Tuning Point,” while another pair shared the same phrasing, with one version correcting a misspelling of “acquaintances.” Furthermore, all nine five-star reviews on the testimonial page were posted within a single 14-week window between January and April 2017, with no new reviews added in the nine years since.

The Better Business Bureau lists the same business address for Prosperity Alliance and a second Sylver company, Mind Power, Inc.: 1027 S Rainbow Blvd # 281 in Las Vegas. That address is a UPS Store in a strip mall, and the box number matches the private-mailbox format the chain publishes for that location. Renting a mailbox is lawful and common among small businesses; the finding here is that two companies share one box.

Sylver’s legal history includes a 2003 indictment on nine felony counts of theft by obtaining money under false pretenses. That case ended in a mistrial after a jury deadlocked, and he was never retried. He has not been convicted of any crimes related to those charges, and no federal regulators—including the FTC or SEC—have brought formal actions against him or his companies.
