The Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol met to consider holding Steve Bannon in contempt for refusing to testify before the committee.
Chair Rep. Bennie Thompson: "Our goal is simple. We want Mr. Bannon to answer our questions. We want him to turn over whatever records he possess that are relevant to the select committee's investigation."
Vice Chair Rep. Liz Cheney: "Based on the committee's investigation, it appears that Mr. Bannon had substantial advanced knowledge of the plans for January 6th and likely had an important role in formulating those plans."
The Select Committee voted unanimously to hold Bannon in criminal contempt of Congress.
