Prime Minister Rishi Sunak Delivers Statement on New Leadership

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the former finance minister and recently chosen Conservative Party leader, made a statement outside of 10 Downing Street shortly after taking office. Mr. Sunak replaced Liz Truss as the new party and government leader after she was ousted the previous week. “Some mistakes were made,” said Prime Minister Sunak about Truss’s historically short tenure in office.
