Washington Today (8-3-23): Donald Trump pleads not guilty to 2020 election & Jan 6 attack charges

Former President Donald Trump appears in federal court in Washington, DC on criminal charges of trying to overturn his loss in 2020 presidential election and stay in office. He is arrested, processed and arraigned, pleads not guilty, and is released until the trial.

House Oversight Committee chair Rep. James Comer (R-KY) releases the transcript of the committee's closed-door interview with Devon Archer, a former business partner of Hunter Biden, about any involvement from Joe Biden when he was Vice President.

We will talk with Washington Examiner reporter Sarah Westwood Bedford about what the transcript reveals, as up until now, Republicans and Democrats on the committee have been giving different assessments. (11).

Secretary of State Antony Blinken says Russia must be confronted for using the Black Sea and grain from Ukraine as "blackmail", as he leads a U.N. Security Council meeting on global food instability and war's impact on famine.

Reports the U.S. military may put armed personnel on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, to keep Iran from seizing civilian ships. We get the Pentagon reaction.
